India beat South Africa in the 4th T20I at Wanderers, Johannesburg, by a massive 135-run margin. Buoyed by unbeaten 120 and 109 from Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson, respectively, India posted a mammoth 283 on board. In reply, South Africa could only manage 148 in 18.2 overs as incisive seam bowling spells from Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya didn’t allow South Africa the momentum they needed to chase 283. They lost four wickets inside three overs. Later on, spinners Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel chipped in with wickets to hand over Proteas a thrashing 135-run defeat in India vs South Africa 4th T20I. Tilak Varma bagged both ‘Player of the Match’ and Player of the Series award for his two back-to-back hundreds.

Tilak Varma hit two boundaries in that over as India galloped to 129 for 1 in 10 overs. Sanju started the 11th over with a massive six over the extra cover region. The over ended with a six too as Tilak smashed Simelane backward of square. The 12th over saw three big sixes, two were hit by Sanju and one by Tilak. India rocketed to 162 for 1 in 12 overs.

Tilak, Samson Put on Carnage in India vs South Africa 4th T20I

Keshav Maharaj conceded 15 runs in the 13th over as India jumped to 177 for 1. Tilak Varma hit two sixes and two fours to take India to 199 for 1 in 14 overs. Sanju brought up India’s 200 with a single the next ball before Tilak went downtown again for a maximum. Miseries piled for South Africa with dropped catches as if they had butter fingers. Sanju Samon soon raised his third T20I in the 18th over, smashing 9 sixes and 6 fours. The following over saw Tilak Varma registering his second successive T20I hundred. Even he hit the same 9 sixes and 6 fours to reach this landmark.

Tilak Varma brought up the highest partnership made by India in T20 cricket i.e. 193 runs by smacking Sipamla for a six down the ground. The over ended with a boundary as India jumped to 270 for 1 in 19 overs. India ended at 283 for 1 in 20 overs. While smashed an unbeaten 120 off 47 balls, Sanju remained not out at 109 off 56 balls. The partnership fetched India 210 runs off 86 balls.

Horrendous Start for SA as They Begin Chasing a Mammoth 284

Arshdeep Singh provided India the breakthrough in the first over as he knocked the stump of Reeza Hendricks. The next over saw Hardik Pandya inducing an outside edge from Rickelton to Sanju Samson. Arshdeep, in the next over, got two back-to-back wickets of Aiden Markram and Henrich Klaasen to leave the Proteas reeling at 10 for 4 in India vs South Africa 4th T20I. David Miller and Tristan Stubbs joined and started hitting fours and sixes to take South Africa along. The 86-run partnership ended as Tilak Varma took an easy catch of David Miller. He scored a brisk 37 off 26 balls, smacking 2 fours and 3 sixes, while Tristan Stubbs’ innings ended as Ravi Bishnoi trapped him leg before wicket for a 29-ball 43. Stubbs slammed two sixes and three fours.

Proteas Derailed Further as Spinners Take Charge in India vs South Africa 4th T20I

Varun Chakaravarthy scalped Simelane as he miscued a pull shot that went safely into the hands of Ravi Bishnoi at short fine leg. Axar Patel came and took two wickets of Gerald Coetzee and Keshav Maharaj for 12 and 6, respectively. Marco Jansen, however, was finding boundaries at will. Ramandeep Singh bagged his first T20I wicket as Axar Patel took a skier off Lutho Sipamla. India won the game by a massive 135 runs to clinch the T20I Series 3-1 against South Africa.
