Mustafizur Breaks the 173-run Stand Between Surya and Samson in India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I
Finally, it was Mustafizur’s slow delivery that got rid of the century-maker Sanju Samson as he played a length delivery early on and was caught by Mahedi Hasan at deep square leg. Samson’s blitzkrieg of 111 runs in 47 balls was studded with 11 fours and 8 sixes. However, the fall of Samson had no effect on Surya as he clobbered Mustafizur for a boundary to raise India’s 200 in 14 overs. However, Mahmudullah got Surya out the next over as the India skipper could not clear the deep mid-wicket fielder Rishad Hossain. Surya smashed 75 off 35, slamming 8 fours and 5 sixes.
Pandya-Parag Show After the Fall of Surya and Samson
Riyan Parag smashed the last ball of the 15th over for a boundary before Hardik opened up with a four, two sixes and a boundary off Tanzim in the next over. Riyan Parag despatched a full toss of Mahedi to a six, four and a six to take India’s total to 252 for 3 in the 17th over. Comedy of errors as Hardik Pandya didn’t respond to a single by Riyan Parag who backed way too far. However, the throw from the Bangladesh wicketkeeper went over the head of Mustafizur as Hardik Pandya completed an easy single in the end. A terrible display by the Shanto-led unit in India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I 2024.
Milestone Breached as India Record the Highest Total in T20I History
Pandya raised India’s highest total in T20I history by steering a full toss from Mustafizur for a boundary at backward square leg. The next ball saw Hardik launching big into the mid-wicket stand for a mammoth six to raise India’s total to 267 for 3 in 18 overs. Riyan Parag got a reprieve on the first ball of the 19th over as the fielder at long-on went on to touch the boundary rope while taking a catch. More miseries as Taskin Ahmed bowled a front foot no-ball. However, Hardik Pandya could not maximise as he squeezed an attempted yorker straight to the point fielder.
Parag, in an attempt to play the scoop shot, gave a simple catch to Litton Das behind the wicket. He smashed 34 off 13, clobbering 4 sixes and a boundary. Pandya and Parag shared a 70-run stand for the fourth wicket. Hardik then hit the last ball of the 19th over to take India’s total to 282 for 4.
Hardik displayed his brilliance further by lifting a back of the length delivery of Tanzim to a glorious six over covers. He attempted a helicopter-shot six the next ball. However, this time, Hardik could not clear the long-off fence. Nitish Reddy was out the next ball as he was caught by Mahedi at deep backward square leg. India Strike Early as Bangladesh Struggle to Keep Up with the Asking Rate
Mayank Yadav gave India the breakthrough in the very first ball of the innings as he bounced out Parvez Hossain for a duck. Parvez was looking to lift it over the fine-leg region only to glove it to Riyan Parag at slip. Tanzid Hasan brought up Bangladesh’s first boundary by lifting a half-tracker from Mayank Yadav to square leg. Bangladesh were struggling at 5 for 1 at the end of the first over.
Tanzid smashed his and his team’s second boundary in the second over by smashing Pandya over the point region. He followed that with another boundary, however, with a stroke of luck. Washington Sundar came just a bit too inside as the ball burst out of his hands to the rope. The next ball, Tanzid could not time properly. However, he and skipper Shanto ran a couple to take Bangladesh to 17 for 1 in two overs.
Shanto hit a six off the first ball of the 3rd over before being hit on the helmet by Mayank Yadav. However, the ball deflected off the helmet to the gap between the wicketkeeper and first-slip fielder for a boundary. Shanto smashed a free-hit ball to the covers for a boundary, taking Bangladesh to 35 for 1 in 3 overs.
Washington Sundar claimed the wicket off his first delivery as Tanzid failed to keep his cut short down as Riyan Parag took a good low catch at short third-man. Extra bounce did the trick on that occasion.
Shanto Dismissed Early Too in India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I 2024
Litton Das slammed Nitish Reddy for five 4s in the fifth over to set the clash between India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I 2024 on fire. Bangladesh rocketed to 59 for 2 in 5 overs. However, Ravi Bishnoi strikes early in his first over as Shanto played a horrible shot to lose his wicket. He failed to reverse sweep perfectly as the ball hit Shanto’s splice on its way to Samson behind the wicket. Bishnoi bowled a wicket-maiden to keep Bangladesh struggling at 59 for 3 in 6 overs.
The next over saw Varun Chakraborty giving away just runs, piling on the misery for visitors in India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I 2024. Litton, however, looked determined as he hit two boundaries off Ravi Bishnoi in the 8th over. Towhid Hridoy hit a six off Varun Chakraborty in the next over. However, the asking rate was still above 18 runs per over. Tohwid Hridoy hit the boundary off the last ball of the 10th over to help his side reach 94 for 3 in 10 overs. Bangladesh required another 204 runs in the remaining 10 overs to win the contest. An improbable task for the Shanto-led unit in India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I 2024.
Litton Departs Early as India Gain Massive Control Over Bangladesh in 3rd T20I
Towhid hit his second six of the innings as he slammed Hardik Pandya over the wide long-off region for the maximum. Bangladesh crossed 100 by virtue of that six. Litton Das then hit a boundary off the last ball to take Bangladesh to 107 for 3 in 11 overs. Towhid registered a boundary off the first ball in the next over, courtesy of a misfield by Mayank Yadav at short third-man. However, Litton failed to clear the mid-wicket region as the fielder took an easy catch. He scored 42 off 24 balls, slamming 8 fours. Bangladesh were tottering at 112 for 4 in 12 overs.
Indian bowlers put brakes on the scoring rate as Mahmudullah and Towhid struggled to find boundaries regularly. Mahmudullah hit his first boundary off Mayank Yadav before being holed out at long-on the next ball, leaving Bangladesh in disarray at 130 for 5. Men in Blue reigned supreme in the India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I 2024 at that point. Mahmudullah received a standing ovation from his team in the dugout as it was his last T20I for Bangladesh.
Men in Blue Continue to Dominate in India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I 2024 Contest in Hyderabad
Indian bowlers kept bowling tight, resulting in Bangladesh failing to break free in the 3rd T20I game in Hyderabad. Towhid was trying his level best to hit boundaries but was not able to do so. Mahedi Hasan fell to a slower delivery off Nitish Reddy as the former hit it to Riyan Parag at long-on. Bangladesh found themselves in all sorts of trouble at 138 for 6 in 16.3 overs.
Rishad Hossain departed a few balls later as his attempt to hit Bishnoi across the line failed as the ball went to Abhishek Sharma at long-off. Towhid completed his half-century with a massive six on the leg side off Bishnoi and then hit a boundary through the covers to help Bangladesh reach 150 for 7 in 18 overs. Tanzim Hasan Sakib hit a boundary off Mayank Yadav the next over. Towhid slammed Nitish Reddy for a boundary off the first ball of the 20th over. Bangladesh could only manage 164 for 7 in 20 overs, conceding a 133-run victory to hosts India. Towhid remained unbeaten at 63 off 42.
The clean sweep by Men in Blue indicates a healthy future for the Indian cricket in T20Is post the retirement of stalwarts Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja from the shortest format of the game.
