A decade ago, there was a film called Dirty Picture with Vidya Balan in the lead not only impressed critics with a wonderful storyline and acting but also did fabulous business at the box office.

Whereas female actors in TV soaps are a household name for the characters they play on screen. People still remember Shweta Tiwari as Prerna, Mona Singh as Jassi, Sakshi Tanwar as Parvati, and several others by the name of the characters they play on the small screen. 

Web series such as Mirzapur, Sacred Games, Panchayat and many more had female actors dazzling the show. 

Women Now Keep India’s Pride High in Sports

Cricket, badminton, tennis, archery, wrestling – You name it. Women in India are active in every sport that the country plays. Indian Women’s Cricket Team has been in the news for their spectacular performances over the years. They won Aisa Cups and have been into the semi-finals and finals of many World Cups. Recently, they were the runners-up to the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024. Now there is a Women’s Premier League much like the Indian Premier League for male cricketers. 

Last, But by No Means Least, the Homemaker Role Women in India Play Every Day

Who can deny the painstaking effort females make while taking care of household responsibilities – cooking food, washing clothes, house cleaning, feeding kids, and much more. They do all these every day and to perfection. The more we appreciate them for household work, the less it feels.
